2022 Rosé | Klindt Vineyard

Special Release, limited production.

Rosé is often produced as an afterthought…grapes that didn’t make the barrel for feature wines, leftover pickings that weren’t needed, etc.

Not this rosé.

Grown, picked and selected intentionally for rosé, these grapes were fermented in a concrete egg and then finished in neutral French oak for 6 months. The fruit hales from the Klindt Vineyard in the Deep End of Anderson Valley, where the cool climate elevates peak ripeness but allows for lower alcohol production.

This vintage had an unexpectedly low yield. The cluster count was high but the volume of the cluster was low. High temps and extreme drought really challenged the vineyard.

That means intense fruit--but not a lot of it. Production of this rosé vintage is half of previous years @ only 50 cases. This will sell out quickly.

These rocky soils, coupled with the cold climate of the Deep End, cause the vines to struggle and naturally limit production to small amounts of intense fruit.
